Discover Features¶

Kamerplanter has many features -- but you don't need to learn them all at once. Depending on your experience level, Kamerplanter shows or hides features so you don't feel overwhelmed.

For Beginners¶

These features are visible right away and are more than enough to get started:

Manage Plants¶

Create new plants, edit them, or remove them. Each plant has a species (e.g. "Basil") and is assigned to a location (e.g. "Kitchen window").

Set Up Locations¶

Describe where your plants are. Locations can be nested -- e.g. "Apartment > Living Room > South Windowsill".

Complete Tasks¶

Kamerplanter automatically creates tasks like "Water", "Repot", or "Fertilize". You see what's due today and check off completed tasks.

Care Reminders¶

Automatic reminders for watering, fertilizing, and other care steps. Kamerplanter adjusts intervals to the season and your plant's needs.

For Intermediate Users¶

When you're ready, switch your experience level to Intermediate. These features become available:

Fertilization & Nutrients¶

Create nutrient plans, calculate nutrient solutions, and track EC values. Kamerplanter knows common fertilizer products and calculates mixing ratios.

Watering Log¶

Document each watering event with volume, EC, and pH. Kamerplanter shows you trends and warns about deviations.

Tank Management¶

Manage nutrient solution tanks with fill level, EC, and pH. Ideal when you're feeding multiple plants from the same solution.

Calendar¶

All dates and tasks in a calendar view. Exportable as an iCal feed for your calendar app.

Growth Phases¶

Track which phase your plants are in (germination, vegetative, flowering, harvest) and change phases manually or automatically.

Pest Management (IPM)¶

Integrated pest management with pest/disease tracking, treatment logs, waiting periods, and resistance management.

Group plants into runs -- ideal for seasonal growing cycles or multiple tents.

Harvest¶

Record harvest indicators, document yields, and assess quality. With automatic waiting period checks.

Sensors¶

Connect sensors -- manually, via Home Assistant, or via MQTT. Kamerplanter displays VPD, temperature, humidity, and more.

Change your experience level¶

You can switch levels at any time:

1. Click your profile picture (top right)
2. Select Account Settings
3. Go to the Experience Level tab
4. Choose your desired level

Don't worry: switching levels never deletes data. Kamerplanter only shows or hides UI elements.
